How it's made - Traditional Cement Tiles

Why is the production time of cement tiles 5 weeks? Cement tiles are handmade, one by one.

The colour layer is created by pouring pigmented cement into a pattern divider. It requires a lot of skill, especially for complex designs with detailed patterns or many colours.

When the colour layer is complete, we remove the pattern divider and add cement to create the base of the tile. Both layers are pressed together with a hydraulic press, after which the tiles air dry naturally.

The drying and hardening phase of the tiles takes approximately 3 weeks. Did you know that cement tiles aren't fired or baked in a kiln?
