On 8/19/2023, at approximately 0035 am, I conducted a traffic stop on a silver 2017 Toyota Camry, belonging to Nivaysha Jacobs. When I ran the license plate to the vehicle it came back showing that it did not have insurance. At this time I pulled the vehicle over. Upon contact with the driver, Deron Goodloe, I asked for the necessary documents, which the operator of the vehicle could not provide. I asked for Goodloe's name and date of birth so our dispatchers could run him through ACIC/NCIC. Stuttgart dispatcher came back with his information and stated that Goodloe had a warrant out of Stuttgart and Jefferson County. At this time I arrested the suspect, but the owner of the vehicle was on the phone with him and asked if she could come get her car, I agreed to not towing it since it was hers and not his.

After speaking with Jacobs, I placed Goodloe in the back seat of my patrol car.
Before the owner took possession of her vehicle, searched the car because I could smell the odor of Marijuana while talking to Goodloe. Upon inspection, I found 2 bags of Marijuana, 1 unopened in the drivers side door (looked like it came from a dispensary) weighing 3.5 grams and another in a sandwich bag in the passenger side door weighing 4.4 grams.

While searching the back seat of the vehicle I found one 9 mm shell casing in the drivers side seat and also a 6 pack of Modelos beer with one left inside (warm to the touch). This concluded my search of the vehicle and I
released it to the owner.

At this time I transported Goodloe to Stuttgart Police Department to serve his warrant and write his citations. Once I served his warrant, I gave him an opportunity to try and find someone to bond him out at the police department. He couldn't find anybody to pay his bond and I asked our dispatchers to send a hit request to Jefferson County. They advised to leave their warrant active.

Goodloe was cited and released with a court date due too a call that took all the officers on duty and not being able to
spare one to transport.
