Detect adulteration with rapid test for silver leaf purity.
1. pure silver leaves will be easily crushed and crumble to the powder form while aluminium leaves will only break in to smaller shreds .
2. further take the suspected leaves and make it in the form of ball and burn it with the help of a flame pure silver leaves burn away completely leaving glistening balls while aluminium leaves are reduced to gray ash .
3. if you have access to chemical reagents or if you have diluted HCL acid at your place,you can try this test, for this place a silver leaf in a test tube and add diluted HCL acid drop by drop .if it becomes turbid with a white precipitate,it means silver is present and hence ,it is not adulterated.however, if it is adulterated with aluminium,on the addition of diluted HCL ,it neither becomes turbid or precipitates ...

1. Food grade silver leaf sheets should be free from creases and folds ,also follow uniform thickness.
2. Foil weight up to 2.8GM/square metre.
3. Silver purity minimum 999/1000.
4. Will not be manufactured using any material of animals origin at any stage of the manufacturing process.
5. The foil will be in accordance with the provisions of food safety and standards (contaminants, toxins and residues) regulations, Packaging and labeling regulation 2011also applicable.
5.Must be prepared in auto plants because in machine manufacturing they generally use German butter paper in place of animals intestine.
