India moon landing: A first in lunar exploration

Chandrayaan-3 successfully touched down near the lunar south pole, landing India in an exclusive club with just three other nations who have achieved the feat - the US, China and the former USSR.

It's thought the south pole's shadowed craters contain water ice that could support a future base on the moon, allowing astronauts and scientists to work there for extended periods
