Alright, thank you very much, and hello again, dear radio friends. How in the world are you? Doing all right? Yes this is your friend, Dr. Cook, and I’m just so grateful to be back with you to invest a few more moments in sharing from the Word of God. What we try to do is to put a handle on it so that you can get hold of it for yourself. God’s inerrant, infallible Word is forever true whether or not anyone reads or believes it. God said it and that settles it. However, it becomes of value to you when you understand it and apply it to your own life.

And that’s our purpose in coming to you with these Bible expositions day by day. We go verse by verse through a book of the Bible. Right now we’re in Romans chapter 15 and we’re looking at verse 30. Paul the apostle says, “Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; That I may be delivered from them that do not believe those who live in Judea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted by the saints; and that I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and that I may with you be refreshed.”

He has a number then of requests and he uses a very strong verb. If you look it up in your Greek New Testament, you’ll find “exomologêsomai,” “to agonize with me in prayer.” Now what are the areas, beloved, what are the areas where you will find opposition from Satan when you start to pray? First of all, it’s prayer for a person. He says, “Pray for me.” The devil doesn’t fight you as long as you pray in generalities, have you noticed that? You can launch into a theological statement in your prayer as many do, “Lord we thank you that Thou art there, that Thou doest run the universe, that Thou art God. Thank you for the gift of salvation. Thank you for the forgiveness of sins;” these are all very good concepts and they’re true. I’m not putting them down, you understand?

Isaiah 55:11:
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
