Lighting cooking oil is certainly not on your daily schedule, but it is an interesting possibility. Because from normal cooking oil you can make such a candle, how exactly it works, I show you in this short video.

For this you take the best outer shell of a conventional tea light. Prick here below a small hole purely. Then you need toilet paper or kitchen roll. Roll up a small piece of it and put it through the hole.

This will be our wick. Now fill a glass half full with water and the other half with a cooking oil of your choice. The oil will now float on top, once there is no more oil in the glass, the water will extinguish the wick.

Dip the wick briefly in the oil and then light it. You have already made a quick candle from cooking oil. If you've never done this before, you should definitely give it a try!
