A dishwasher takes a lot of work off your plate. But most people don't even know what their dishwasher can really do. That's why in this video I'm going to show you 7 tricks you should definitely know about your dishwasher.

1. did you know that you can adjust the height of the top rack? You just have to press the two levers on the side and you can adjust the height of the compartment. This is especially helpful when you want to place large items on the top or bottom.

2. does it also annoy you that especially cups and cans always carry some water? Open your dishwasher after the wash cycle, put a towel in the top and tilt the door back. This will remove the water and prevent it from collecting on top.

Did you eat an orange, tangerine or lemon? Then don't throw the peel away but put it in the dishwasher. This will make it smell really nice in your dishwasher.

Shake the compartments before you turn on the dishwasher. This way you can see which pieces would fall over, so you can fix them better. This way you can prevent cups from turning over and filling up with water.

If your cutlery is no longer shiny, form a ball of aluminum foil and place it in the cutlery drawer of your dishwasher. Turn it on as usual and after that your dishes will shine really nice again.

6. your dishwasher should also be cleaned. The best way to do this is to pour 50 grams of sodium bicarbonate into your dishwasher and add some vinegar to the compartment where you usually put the dishwashing powder or tab. Run the dishwasher once without dishes and it will be clean and decalcified again.

For a nice scent in the dishwasher, you can cut a mouth guard on one side and then put lemon slices in it. Then close the mouthguard and put it in the dishwasher. Start it normally and after that everything will smell wonderful.
