Harvest Dinner | Venison Stew (Frugal Family Food)

RECIPE:

VENISON STEW

1 venison backstrap, cut into large chunks
2 tbsp oil
1 medium onion
3-4 cups potatoes, roughly cut
5 carrots, roughly cut
2 quarts beef broth/stock
3 bay leaves
2 tsp thyme
3 tsp pink Himalayan salt
pepper to taste

1. Brown venison in 2 tbsp oil in dutch oven.
2. Add onions, roughly cut.
3. Add remaining ingredients (vegetables, stock, seasoning).
4. Cover and let simmer for 5-6 hours. You can also do this in a croc pot.

TIPS:

For added flavor, de-glaze the pan (before adding veggies and stock) with 1 cup red wine.
