The Hazards of Beach Nesting

Florida has listed many beach-nesting birds as threatened species. Loss of habit and people are the main reasons. You can see what happens when an inconsiderate person hits a ball into the posted, roped-off nesting area. In this video, a volleyball lands in a Black Skimmer scrap (nest), upsetting the birds and just missing a scrap with 4 eggs in it.
