Smallest vs Largest Flying Squirrel

The smallest flying squirrel is the pygmy flying squirrel, measuring around 3-4 inches in length and weighing about 0.35-0.88 ounces. On the other hand, the largest flying squirrel is the woolly flying squirrel, reaching lengths of about 14-17 inches and weighing around 3.5-7 ounces. Both species have a membrane of skin called a patagium that allows them to glide between trees.
