Traveling sugar beetles get their name from their love of eating pollen and flowers but they also eat insects. The scientific name Petaurus breviceps refers to the short-headed rope dancer. The sugarcane was actually introduced to Tasmania in 1835 and remains the only airplane in the country. Traveling sugar is widely used in the pet trade, especially in the United States.
