Water Leaks and Squeaky Hinges! Roadside Repairs = Skoolie Life

When you live life on the road, often you will be required to fix/ maintain your rig. We are about to start the long journey back home and I have two problems that require my attention. Having the ability to pull fresh water from the bus and into a garden hose is quite important. It allows me to run our pressure washer and to fill containers easily. The leak was so bad that I had to shut off the valve whenever I wasn't actually using the pressure washer. Now we should be leak free! The second maintenance item is probably even more important. When a greased hinge is dry, it creates a large amount of resistance to motion. If you leave it for too long, you run the risk of cracking a weld and breaking the door off. Once properly greased, the hinges should be able to go for 6-12 months without greasing.

We are a husband and wife team that loves to take on hard projects. We finished our bus project after 2 years of hard work and are now enjoying life on the road. We plan to travel for a year or two more while we prepare to homestead in northern Idaho or western Montana. Come join us as we document our journey.
