The clash of the table toppers, both teams coming undefeated into this contest. The Tigers were high on confidence, on the back of their last win against the Knights. The Wolves had their last game washed out, sharing 1 point a piece with the Jaguars. The Tigers won the toss and did exactly as per the trend of the tournament, and decided to bowl first.

The Wolves had their opening pair of Aaron Johnson and Usman Khan to open their inning. The pair having the license to attack started positively. But, the Tigers' skipper introduced Shakib Al Hasan early into the attack. He got rid of Aaron Johnson after being hit for a six on the previous ball. The Kiwi international Mark Chapman then joined Usman Khan, and they both started scoring at a brisk rate, bringing up the team's fifty inside the powerplay. The young bowler Aayan Khan from UAE got two wickets in an over for the Tigers, first removing his countryman Usman Khan and then Hussain Talat a few balls later.
