On August 15, 2023, I (Sgt. Gignac) was traveling west on Michigan when I noticed a Ford SUV in front of me with no license plate on the rear. At this point I turned on my lights and sirens and the vehicle turned into the dollar tree parking lot.

As I was advising Stuttgart dispatch of the traffic stop a black male with blue jeans a hat white beater shirt stepped out of the passenger side rear door. The male subject was tall, and I would say slim but not skinny. I looked directly at him and advised him to get back into the vehicle.

The male subject was very close to me and looked at me. I again advised him to get into the vehicle and the male subject ran. The subject I then noticed had short above the ear hair cut due to the hat falling off his head. I then put out a description of the subject as explained above.

I then returned to the vehicle and asked the driver who the male subject was that ran. At first the answer was I don’t know. Then as I spoke with the subjects that remained in the vehicle, I was given a first name Keri. I then asked for all three subjects IDs one subject had a search waiver on file so I along with another officer checked the vehicle and notice a backpack with a credit card that showed Keri Timmons information on it. I then advised Stuttgart dispatch to run that subject for me. When I returned to the Stuttgart Police Department, I was able to positively id the subject that ran from me Keri Timmons.

The vehicle involved in the traffic stop was within its 30 days to register. The vehicle driver and passengers were let go. A citation was written for Keri Timmons for fleeing and a request for warrant of arrest.
