COMMENT ON THE 8-20-23 CLASS
I was dissatisfied with the excessive insertion of unnecessary comments – a total of twelve interruptions by my count – at 2:17 to 7:17. I was far more dissatisfied with the events at 1:13:00 to 1:18:10, which included twenty-three additional unnecessary interruptions, a descent into complete chaos, overt rejection of my authority to lead the class, and the necessity for very strong words by myself in order to get the class back on track. If I were trying to make my own class look good, I would edit these parts out of the published recording. However, they are an example of group spiritual study in real life, so I’m leaving them in the hopes that the events themselves may be educational to some who hear them. If you’re not in the mood to listen to chaos, simply skip those sections. After the class, my written comments to the class were “Let’s make sure this never happens again, and let’s allow God to make some good come out of the events that occurred. This class is meant to be an academic environment. I will not allow it to descend into comedy and group entertainment.”

CORRECTIONS TO MY STATEMENTS AT THE 8-20-23 CLASS
>> At 23:35 “Hebrew reads from left to right” was meant to be “Hebrew reads from right to left.”
>> From 27:00 we were discussing the meaning of Jeremiah 7:22. From 27:00 to 27:48 I said “All of the commands to do any offerings to God are given during that period. There’s not a single one recorded in the Bible that is not given in that period. So if they’re not given in that period, then they’re not in the Hebrew scriptures at all. And if God is saying that all the ones that purport to have come from Him during that period are a lie, because He didn’t speak them, then that means there’s not a single one in the Hebrew scriptures.”
That should have been “All of the commands to do any offerings to God that purportedly were given, were purportedly given during that period. There’s not a single one recorded in the Bible that purportedly was not given in that period. So if God did not give them during that period, then God did not give them at all, in spite of the fact that they are in the Hebrew scriptures. And if God is saying that all the ones that purport to have come from Him during that period are a lie, because He didn’t speak them, then that means God is saying that every single one that is in the Hebrew scriptures is a lie.”
COMMENT: It also means that every case in the Bible where the name of God is invoked when those commandments are given is a violation of the commandment “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God” See Leviticus 7:38, which is the summary of Leviticus 1-7, as an example of taking the name of the LORD in vain.
>> At 1:23:12, background noise obscured “our” at what should have been “our limitations.”
>> At 1:10:40 to 1:10:50 “I don’t think it makes a significant difference how the author knew” should have been preceded by “In this particular case.”
