The Italian mafia boss who was caught because of Google Maps

Gioacchino Gammino, 61, was a convicted murderer but managed to escape prison in 2002

And ever since then, he has been one of Italy's most wanted gangsters but authorities have been unable to track him down

That is until in late 2021, someone recognised him from Google maps

They saw him in Galapagar, Spain, where he was recognised through a scar on the left side of his chin.

There, he married, changed his name to Manuel and even ran a fruit and vegetable shop, also working as a chef on the side.

After finding further evidence police immediately arrested him, After his arrest, he reportedly told police: "How did you find me? I haven't even called my family for 10 years.
