Gran Turismo is a surprisingly good movie based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, the Gamer turned Racer. Gran Turismo is a high-octane film that seeks only to entertain and is able to lightly tug on a few heartstrings along the way. When Nissan gets the idea to sponsor the best Gran Turismo players and turn them into actual race-car drivers, Jann is paired with Jack Salter, a hard-nosed coach who doesn't think Jann has what it takes. This triumphant sports movie tells the tale of how Jann overcame doubt from every direction as well as personal tragedy to go from Gamer to Racer.
