Landing of plane

To land, the plane's airspeed and rate of descent are reduced to allow for a gentle touch-down. Slowing down and descending to the runway is how you land. This is accomplished by decreasing thrust and/or increasing drag through the use of flaps, landing gear, or speed brakes.
