In late July 2010, kayakers Sebastian Nilssen and his friend Ludvig Fjeld set out on a quest in an attempt to set a world record by becoming the first team to paddle around Norway’s Svalbard archipelago.
Nilssen and Fjeld were cautioned by other Arctic explorers they encountered during their training about just how dangerous polar bears can be. Heeding these warnings, the pair would go on to undertake rifle training, diligently preparing for every scenario. Little did they know, the time would come for them to apply their skills in a real-world situation...
