Sweet guinea pig demands to be hand-fed

Ginger the Guinea pig has a very deep bond with her two owners. Her favorite treats are carrots and she can down them without batting an eyelash!

Nestled between the two sisters, she goes back and forth between the girls, begging for a carrot to nibble on. The chubby little rodent seems to be getting a royal treatment, being hand fed and all.

How these little rodents came to be named “guinea pigs” is unfamiliar, though it is assumed that their pig-like built might have been the cause. Their heads are larger in relation to their bodies, with stout necks and rounded rumps with no tail, just like pigs. Even some of the sounds they make a very similar to those of pigs.
