“What in G-D’s Name?”
Though I’ve always believed in God, I have not always been a practicing Christian. Back in those days, I gave very little thought to the many misuses of God’s Name that I’d hear regularly. Episode after episode of Friends, for example, where the characters would use “oh my God” as a meaningless exclamation or even a show of disgust, seemed totally normal to me. But on this side of the gospel I much better understand the spiritual importance of using God’s Name correctly, and I’m often keenly aware of the ways the world routinely does otherwise. Today on Something’s Happening Here, we turn our discussion of the importance of names to the very Name of God. Or is it, NameS of God?
