However, according to local residents in the area, two planes at the airport were damaged as a result of the crash.

No casualties or injuries were reported as a result of the attack.
Russian sources also claimed that there was no other damage to the infrastructure.

The Ukrainian Intelligence Spokesperson commented on the recent attacks on Russian airports.

The spokesperson officially announced that the attacks were planned and carried out by the Ukrainian Intelligence.

This removes all previous doubts and confirms that the Ukrainians have an impressive network of spies and saboteurs deep in Russia.

The spokesperson also said that a large number of Russian aircraft were successfully destroyed or at least severely damaged.

The spokesperson claimed that these planes are Russian strategic bombers Tu-22m3, which the Russians repeatedly use to launch missile strikes on Ukraine.

In the past few days, coordinated GUR saboteurs have neutralized five Russian aircraft, including strategic bombers.

If you remember, two days ago, agents working with Ukrainian military intelligence carried out a drone attack on the military airport in Soltsy in the Novgorod region of the Russian Federation.

One Tu-22 M3 bomber was destroyed and two other aircraft were damaged.

This was the first time that a strategic bomber belonging to the Russian Federation was destroyed.

Two more Russian bombers were damaged in a drone attack controlled by GUR saboteurs on Shaikovka airport in the Kaluga region.

In addition to these last two attacks, Ukraine has carried out numerous attacks on Russian bomber bases in the past using long-range drones.
But these operations have dwindled in recent months. Kiev seems to be diverting its ever-expanding drone capabilities to Moscow.

But these latest attacks from within Russia mark a new trend towards targeting Russia's long-range air power through localized drone strikes.

Also, new satellite images reveal the bitter end of the Tu-22M Backfire bomber.

War Zone satellite imagery from Planet Labs shows the aftermath of a drone attack on Soltsy-2 airbase that destroyed at least one Tu-22M3 Backfire bomber.

The images show the burnt remains of a Backfire in a pavement where specimens of this species have been parked since at least August 16.

It shows a large group of Backfires at the top on August 10, in addition to previous images taken by a Maxar Technologies satellite.
After that attack, live images appeared on social media that Backfire was engulfed in flames.

Satellite imagery, in addition to showing the burnt plane, also shows Russia evacuating all other Backfires parked on Soltsy-2, about 665 kilometers north of the Ukrainian border.

In total, 10 Tu 22M3s were seen on base on the 16th, as well as an Il-76 transport and an Il-18 or derivative turboprop aircraft.
