Q + A: How to not be a buzzkill mom? (ie. How to still be fun/have fun going to events with baby!)

How to be a cool mom? How to be a relaxed mom? How to hang out with friends and bring your babies? However you might be asking that question, one major piece of mom advice I forgot to share is… BRING TOYS. Or crayons & paper! Or something to keep your children entertained! I forgot to say that 😬 (of course what you bring depends on how old your baby, toddler, child, or children are!) Also remember that you are enough .. even if the people around you make you feel small or like you are a buzzkill. You aren’t. You’re an amazing mom. Keep on keeping on. Im giving you the nod 😉

Going to social events with kids can be so fun but it may require that we as the moms adjust our expectations! We are not going to the event as an individual, we are going as people who are responsible for our babies/toddlers/kids. That is demanding. Try to accept that reality before attending & choose family-friendly or kid-friendly settings. Bring snacks, water, diapers if needed. Bring a friend or partner if you can. If you can’t then text them for reinforcements if you need it. Be open with safe people there about how you’re doing. Eat, drink, and be merry (responsibly of course). Consider nap times and bed times when planning your day. Tired kids have a harder time being fun. Tired moms too. Remember you can always leave the event if it sucks. ❤️
