Around Town 6/13/17: Yankee Doodle Days

Mark your calendars because starting on Thursday, Yankee Doodle Days are back in Grand Ledge. The event runs through June 18th and features parades, live music, fireworks, and a petting zoo for kids. For the full event schedule, check grandledgechamber.com. Also happening this weekend is the 21st Annual Mayor's Family Riverwalk. You can join Mayor Virg Bernero at a three mile walk that starts at Potter Park Zoo and ends at Maguire Park. The first 1,000 walkers are going to get a free t-shirt. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m. The event hopes to educate the community about the benefits of family exercise while having a little fun.
