The Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX) is a NASA spacecraft launched in October 2008 to study the interactions between the solar wind and the interstellar medium. It focuses on the boundary region where the solar wind from our Sun meets the interstellar medium from other stars. IBEX uses energetic neutral atom imaging to create maps of this boundary, providing insights into the dynamic interactions at the edge of our solar system. The mission has helped scientists understand the heliosphere's structure and how it interacts with the surrounding space.
