In 2018 Robert Bassano returned, in this clip Robert speaks about a conversation he had with a pilot who saw military aircraft scooping up balloons with tail their tail hooks. The pilot said the military aircraft that are performing these recovery operations do this at night and they turn off their beacons. These balloons are also oftentimes being recovered when the weather is bad to prevent people from being able to see the operation.
