This well made, nicely designed and easy to install six-piece recessed ceiling light set from Bickon is perhaps designed for bathroom or kitchen use where the IP44 water resistance and the cool white light option will be best suited.
The kit arrived in a well labeled and nicely designed product box with all the important information about the contents clearly given. Inside were the six separately bagged downlights each with a hard wired two core cable and easy use wiring connector. A small but nicely printed and well-designed User Guide is included.
Build quality could not be better as each of the 7w 600 lumens LED lights are made of Aluminium and it all feels like a quality piece of high-end kit. The IP44 water-resistant lights are good and bright and should be able to cope with high ceilings and large floor spaces. The non dimmable lights are switchable between warm white (2700°K), standard white (4100°K) and cool white (6500°K), just flick the wall switch rapidly to scroll between the three lighting modes. The lights each have a beam angle of 120° to give the widest possible light coverage. Unlike with some rivals, no power transformer is needed and these lights can be connected directly to a UK mains power supply. There are no ugly or glaring LED bulbs on show, as the light source for each unit is concealed behind a translucent diffusing panel.
To fit each unit a circular hole of 75mm-95mm diameter must be made to allow the light rear unit to pass through and ensure you have a working depth of at least 30mm on the other side. Although smaller than many rivals, the light units are 27mm thick with an external diameter of 105mm, so the more working space the better. After first connecting and testing the wiring to each light the unit on the workbench they can then be carefully pushed through the holes with the metal retaining clips expanding to hold it in place.
This a superior product that is well made, very functional, and nicely presented. When properly fitted it should give years of service for the very reasonable pre discount price of £24.99.
