Amazon Workers Walk Out To Demand Raises And Time Off

Amazon workers in Shakopee, Minnesota — outside of Minneapolis — walked off the job on April 29, 2022 to demand time off for the Muslim holiday of Eid and the reinstatement of a $3/hour raise. Amazon had given the workers the pay bump during "peak" season, but then took it away. One worker says that Amazon responded to the walkout by docking those who walked out up to 10 hours of their time off.
