Drought affecting Panama Canal threatens 40% of global cargo ship traffic

Every ship that transits the Panama Canal uses tens of millions of gallons of fresh water to pass through. A historic drought in Panama is limiting the number of ships allowed to pass and the amount of cargo they can carry
