Remember that unnamed compact SUV the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) teased right before the 2023 Indonesia International Auto Show? Turns out it was a lot more like the XFC concept than previously thought. Making its official debut, the new Mitsubishi xForce has been revealed overseas, and the automaker has plans to keep it there. Available only in Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region, the 2024 Mitsubishi xForce will only be sold across Southeast Asian, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and African countries. We would say, “bummer”, but it’s not all that flashy.

What We Already Know
It’s clear that the new xForce took a lot of inspiration from the previously tested XFC concept. The xForce could very well be the compact SUV shared during the automaker’s “Challenge 2025” business strategy, but it does leave a bit of a sour taste in our mouth. We were hoping for something brand new, something a little more futuristic based on past Mitsubishi concepts. Much of the style seen in the early preview is unchanged.

The 2024 Mitsubishi xForce gives off a more muscular and aggressive tone up front with a new grille, large headlights on either side, and even some slim fender flares in the front and rear. Much of it is remiscient of the XFC concept, but tweaked to make the xForce stand on its own four wheels. Speaking of which, these large 18-inch wheels, Active Yaw Control (AYC) system, and a segment-leading ground clearance of 8.7 inches, the xForce is capable of going off-road. This is almost unheard of for a two-wheel drivetrain. That’s right, the xForce only comes with two-wheel drive, but also comes equipped with four drive modes (Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud) to help tackle rough and slippery surfaces one may find when going off road.

Powered by a 1.5-liter engine, and paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the engine is able to generate 103 horsepower and 104 lb-ft) of torque. There goes the chance of a new rally car, but some American fans would be definitely jealous if Mitsubishi returned to its rally car roots and kept it restricted to overseas markets. The 2024 Mitsubishi Colt was thought to be the resurrection of past times, but it’s a crossover, and a rebadge of the Renault Clio. There is still the Ralliart Vision concept left to be seen, so there’s some small hope that the revival of Ralliart wasn’t just for show and graphic-inspired appearance packages.

What’s New in MITSUBISHI XFORCE 2024
It would seem that the xForce model did take the interior of the XFC concept, although not as flashy. The cockpit is still fairly digital, but it doesn’t cover the entire width of the dashboard. Featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, the cabin is comfortable and convenient. Able to sit up to five passengers, there are a lot of storage compartments for keeping items and devices safe as well as connected. This includes a wireless charging pad, plus USB ports, and smartphone holders. The upholstery is said to be a “mélange” fabric, possibly the only option. For entertainment, a Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium sound system featuring 8 speakers is the standard setup.

Nothing really new when compared to the models we already have here in the states. It’s just a little more modern with the digital screens on the dashboard. Guess we’ll wait and see how the Ralliart Vision turns out, after all. Follow along with us on University Mitsubishi social media for more.
