2 Thessalonians 01 Background and Introduction

Good afternoon!

Tonight I want you to bring any QUESTIONS you have about the Rapture and the day of the LORD. Here are some ideas:

When will the rapture occur?
Who will be raptured?
What is the rapture exactly?
Will we recognize people in the resurrection?
Why is the rapture pre-trib? and not mid-trib, pre-wrath, or post-trib?
How much time will there be between the rapture and the beginning of the day of the LORD?
What is the day of the LORD?
What is the great and terrible day of the LORD?
When will the day of the LORD begin?
What will life be like in the day of the LORD?
Will believers be in the day of the LORD?
What is the sequence of events like the rapture and the day of the LORD and the Second Coming?
How do we know that Paul thought the rapture was imminent?
What are the three main rapture passages?

After that, if needed, I'll touch some on the Rapture from 1 Thessalonians, and then press on to the Background and Introduction of 2 Thessalonians. The key word for this book is Day of the LORD. This doctrine was already introduced in 1 Thessalonians 5, so we are familiar with it. Hopefully we will get more familiar with it in 2 Thessalonians. The day of the LORD is a very important doctrine, referenced at least 83 times in the OT, and yet the strange thing is it's not heard of very often in pop Christianity. 😳 Sign of the times when the Bible is not being taught. People don't want to hear sound doctrine, but would rather have their ears tickled.
