The dog flu is an infectious respiratory disease. It’s very contagious and has infected thousands of canines in more than 30 states, most recently in Texas. It’s caused by an influenza A virus, the strain is called H3N2. Most dogs do recover but this flu can be deadly, turning into pneumonia that requires hospital care. The influenza A virus is similar to the strains that causes flu in humans, but there is no current evidence showing the dog virus can infect people. But cats can get it, however
