NOT OF THIS EARTH 1988 - Director Jim Wynorski supposedly got the idea to do this remake of the Corman classic on a bet, in which an alien arrives on Earth looking to take human blood in an attempt to preserve his dying planet. Wynorski bet he could do it in the same time schedule & budget, adjusted for inflation. At least that's how the story goes. I think he just wanted to remake it as a horror-comedy.
