21 Aug: Ukrainian Challenger Tanks Finally Penetrate Russian Defense | Ukraine War News
All signs point to some kind of stalemate between Ukraine and Russia, with both sides trying to hold or recapture pieces of territory too large for their forces.

Moscow is in the midst of an offensive against northeastern Luhansk and Kharkiv, while Kiev-led forces are trying to gain the upper hand in the southern Zaporizhzhia and southeastern Donetsk regions.

Both sides have deployed military resources to shore up troops bearing the brunt of separate offensives.

But today on Ukrainian territory we are facing the most intensive military deployment along an extended border that we have seen in the annals of world military history.

We can clearly see that Ukraine is one step ahead of Russia in this regard.

This is especially evident south of the Orikhiv settlement in the Zaporizhia region.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are sending reservists into the battle to break through the Russian defenses in the Zaporizhzhia region and advance towards Melitopol, cutting the land bridge to Crimea.
The Ukrainian air assault forces have finally deployed their most powerful units.
The 82nd Airborne Brigade of the 82nd Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a massive two thousand-strong unit equipped with British Challenger tanks and Marder and Stryker infantry fighting vehicles, landed near Rabotyne, south of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The 2,000-strong 82nd Air Assault Brigade, loaded with Marder and Stryker combat vehicles and Challenger 2 tanks, has apparently mobilized in the last few days around Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast in southern Ukraine.
The 82nd Air Assault Brigade has 90 American-made Stryker combat vehicles, 40 German-made Marder combat vehicles and 14 Challenger 2 main battle tanks.

The 82nd Brigade and the 46th Brigade are among the largest and most elite paratrooper formations held in reserve by the Ukrainian Armed Forces command.

The presence of the 82nd Brigade's elite Ukrainian paratroopers in Rabotyne shows that time is running out for the Russians on this front.

Already the paratroopers of this brigade have begun to break through the Russian defense lines in Rabotyne with Challengers, one of the most powerful battle tanks in the world.

Although it has been about a week since the arrival of this brigade in the center of Rabotyne, the fact that Ukraine has achieved effective results in such a short time shows that some critical balances have changed in the war.

Namely, the engagement of new reserves will allow Ukrainian forces to significantly increase their firepower on the Zaporizhia-Orikhiv line, one of the main sectors of the counteroffensive.

Considering that the reserves of the Russian army may be running out in Zaporizhia, this is evidenced by the fact that the Russian generals need to transfer forces along the front line instead of pulling reserves from the rear in this area.

So the lack of operational reserves means that the Russian command will have to deploy more forces along the front line if they want to strengthen certain sectors.

This situation leads to a significant deterioration in the Russian defense of the Ukrainian offensive and the depletion of forces in a critical part of the front.

This conclusion does not only apply to Rabotyne. The situation is the same for the Russians to the northeast of the Rabotyne settlement.

Thomas Theiner, a military expert of the NATO ground forces, reported the other day that Ukrainian armored vehicles dispersed Russian fortifications in the Urozhaine area.

Theiner republished a video showing a PT-91 Twardy heavy battle tank of one of the Ukrainian units advancing at high speed and firing at Russian positions.

It was noteworthy that the Ukrainian tank traveled a great distance across the field without hitting a mine.

At the same time, it was admirable how the Ukrainian crew on the tank drove safely without fear of being blown up.

Despite being under intense Russian artillery fire, the fearless Ukrainian soldiers continue to fire on Russian positions with PT-91 Twardy tanks donated by Poland.

Now this place belongs entirely to Ukraine.

According to the expert, the liberation of Urozhaine gives the Ukrainian Armed Forces four new directions to continue the offensive simultaneously.

One of these directions is Mariupol, one of the Ukrainian coastal settlements.

In the direction of Mariupol, we have observed the formation of nearly 50,000 new Ukrainian troops in just a few weeks.
But the Russians also seem to have taken action against this formation in recent days.

The Russians are creating another training area near Mariupol, where the number of soldiers will be up to 40,000.

The training area will cover the areas near Babakh-Tarama, Yalta, Manhush.
