A 4K Visualization of the Moon's 2022 Transformations from the Northern Hemisphere

This 4K presentation displays the Moon's phases and the phenomenon of libration, captured hourly throughout the year 2022 from the perspective of the Northern Hemisphere. Each individual frame corresponds to a span of one hour. Moreover, this visual representation illustrates the Moon's orbital position, points where it aligns with the Earth's center and the Sun directly, and its distance from Earth, all depicted accurately to scale. Craters located close to the boundary between the illuminated and dark portions of the Moon are appropriately identified. Additionally, landmarks such as Apollo landing sites, maria, and other light-reflecting features are highlighted when illuminated by sunlight. The video is attributed to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, and the data visualization was crafted by Ernie Wright of USRA. The production and editing were carried out by David Ladd from AIMM. The accompanying musical score, titled “Build the Future,” is provided by Universal Production Music.
