Police Roadblock Exiting North Lahaina

This video shows one persons attempt to exit Lahaina going South to Kihei Town, yet he encounters numerous road obstructions, and decides to go back North using Front Street, eventually abandons his car, and walks to safety on the beach North to Kaanapali.

One of the many controversial issues regarding the Lahaina fire was the Police Roadblock exiting North Lahaina due to a down power line.

Police were given orders to direct traffic back South into Lahaina where the fire was quickly developing. Many were caught in the fire due to this action. Many question why Police did not simply direct people around the power line?
