We show the process of installing the wood stove in our yurt and how we built the heat shield out of stone from our property. How we stay warm during the VA snow and ice storm. Also included is us experiencing our first snow since moving to Virginia!

These videos are all part of the Anderson family's move from City living to building an awesome homestead in southwest Virginia. We hope to show the beauty of nature, the hard work required to make our dreams come true and the joy of Gods creation as well as share some of the laughs that our family has experienced during the transition to off-grid living.

Chuck is a farm kid from Wisconsin who moved to the south in the 80's in pursuit of his professional career but never could shake the pull of farm life and country living. Brooke grew up in San Diego spending most of her early life on the beaches. She has always been drawn to nature and outdoors, hiking and camping. After spending 15+ years together in Raleigh, they began preparing for Chuck's eventual retirement with the purchase of 285 acres in southwest Virginia. As the pandemic evolved, they decided to move their kids out of Raleigh and into the rural school system in Floyd county. The transition has been amazing and the blessings overwhelming! God is great! Enjoy!
