Srettha Thavisin voted as next Thai prime minister after Shinawatra jailed - BBC News
9 months ago
Pheu Thai party candidate Srettha Thavisin has been voted the next Thai prime minister, after his predecessor Thaksin Shinawatra was jailed.
Former PM Shinawatra was jailed upon returning to Thailand after 15 years in exile.
Pheu Thai insists the two developments - Mr Thaksin's return and the coalition that voted for a Pheu Thai PM - are unconnected.
