Terminator 7 may not sound like a good idea considering the failure of the previous four movies, but the 7th installment can still succeed if it fulfills 1 important condition. Created by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd, the Terminator franchise includes six movies, among which the most recent one premiered in 2019. While the original first two movies, directed by James Cameron, were incredibly successful and played a significant role in revolutionizing the sci-fi genre on the big screen, the last four movies of the franchise did not come close to matching the originals' high standards.

However, it's the dramatic increase in AI's capability that has caught the attention of most Terminator devotees, including franchise co-creator James Cameron. Cameron recently revealed that he's developing a new Terminator movie inspired by the current discussion around the pros and cons of AI. The Oscar-winning filmmaker added that the project won't arrive any time soon, as he's eager to see how AI technology develops before finalizing the screenplay. Cameron also declined to confirm whether his Terminator film will be a prequel, sequel or reboot, nor did he say whether he intended to invite Schwarzenegger to take part.
