A highly invasive urban-dwelling mosquito that has migrated from South Asia and the Arabian Peninsula is one of the biggest threats to malaria elimination in sub-Saharan Africa. Oxitec, a biotechnology company, has developed an innovative solution to use mosquitoes to fight these mosquitoes. If successful, this technology could help African governments control mosquito populations and save lives from malaria.
