Filling In Duplicate Ballots in California is Legal

The California duplication process is different than other states, and this difference is meant to provide an increased audit process. When a ballot is damaged or unreadable, the process for Duplication on each individual ballot involves 4 people. One caller, one observer of the caller, one marker and one observer of the marker. The ballots are then stamped with matching ID numbers in case an audit is needed to prove that the ballots were duplicated accurately.
