Blackburn Gets Censorship Loophole Removed From Social Media Bill

In February 2022, Senator Marsha Blackburn, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, spoke about the importance of taking on big tech and their corporate profits with communist China.

She more recently secured a win for freedom of speech as it relates to tech policy by removing a loophole from the Open App Markets Act. This bill was designed to regulate the app marketplaces of Apple and Google, and the loophole would have allowed the social media platforms to continue censoring in the name of “digital safety.”
