"There Will Be No Discussion. It Is Done." - USS Enterprise Meets The Metrons & Kirk Meets A Gorn

Another classic scene, for some reason hard to find as a standalone and not buried in longer features. As with others posted, this had a helluva impact to the 8 year-old kid watching it .... long ago as it was broadcast. EXCELLENT writing. Love the Metrons' annoyed parent tone and their no-B.S. dismissal of any lip or argument from the primitives.
Spock's look, knowing the wheels are turning in that head and wishing you had such an ally. Then, of course, suddenly confrontation with a man-sized fanged lizard Gorn. Exceptional episode, even the scenes aboard a helpless Enterprise.
Summary Yammer: Seeing this now, drinking coffee and slowing waking, the timing of these things makes me wonder. Sure, no way would I be commanding a starship at this point in physical life (I'd TRY!), I'd likely lose and all aboard destroyed because it happened when I needed a nap, my hip hurt or delayed breakfast a bit too long. Got to be ready for anything, on a moment's notice, on that ship!
