Melting Silver Jewellery, Pouring a Silver Bar

I recommend this Furnace.. http://amzn.to/2wr7G2k (Affiliate)

It uses Propane Gas which is much cheaper to run with no problems like burning out the element and gives you better options for crucibles like stainless steal or cast iron which last a long time.

Assay results are in..
Bar Weight: 1074.07 Grams
89.81% Silver = 964.62 Grams Pure Silver

Scrap Sterling Silver can be found quite cheap if you look around, 2nd hand stores can sometimes have trinket boxes of jewelry to look through, car boot sales, auction lots and even on ebay occasionally.

There's different purities of silver jewelry and the best is 925 silver which is 92.5% of pure silver.
"Turned out to be 89.81% so obviously there was a couple pieces that would of only been 50% silver but overall it was very close"

Here I melted just over 1kg of sterling silver into an ingot.
