There are over 30 different muscles in the forearms and hands. I mention hands because often when we think of forearm strength we think of grip strength. Of course the forearm is involved in more than just hand and wrist movements. it is also a major component in elbow flexion. Particularly when your palm is facing downward.

This muscle is called the Brachioradialis and along with the wrist extensor and flexor muscles make up most of the size of the forearm. The most common exercises to build size in the forearm are reverse grip curls, wrist curls and reverse grip wrist curls.
