Canon 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens review with samples (APS-C and full-frame)

Canon have decided to release a 'less-expensive' kit lens for their full-frame cameras - less expensive than their popular 24-105mm f/4 'L' lens, anyway. With its darker maximum aperture, could it exceed the 'L' lens's image quality? And can Canon really find a market for a cheap, STM zoom lens for full frame? I'm not so sure - you decide.
