It seems to me that each conductor does this move differently, but they've got to have two locomotives to get it done. The Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad run this line and service Alter Metal many times a week, sometimes they'll grab what they can as they make their southbound run. The problem is that Alter Metal's spur is facing north, which can be a problem with a southbound train.
