Are EV's REALLY The Future? Electric Cars VS Alternative Fuels

You may think the answer is simple to "are EV's the future" but it's really not as simple as it seems. Much as EV technology is being promoted and some great electric cars are coming to market, there are definitely negatives of EV ownership at the moment, especially in the UK.

Whilst they make all the sense in the world for casual users or short-distance commuters do they make any sense at all (other than for the EV company car tax benefits) for business users and those who regularly make long journeys. Electric car charging is not always as simple as it seems, and real-world electric car range is often far from the advertised rate.

We look at the alternatives to Electric cars and some of the alternative fuels that are currently available and in development that don;t require things like lithium mining.

James May famously drives a Hydrogen fuel cell car, the Toyota Mirai, so we take a look at Hydrogen Cars as well as a zero-carbon fuel alternative for internal combustion engine cars for those of you who can't live with a Tesla Model 3.

I'm not anti-EV in any way, I really want one actually, but I want one that works for my particular use case and that's proving to be difficult right now. I'm sure this will resolve itself in the future but let's not write-off the alternatives to electric vehicles just yet.
