Lucy Letby, a British nurse, was found guilty of murdering seven babies at a hospital neonatal unit, making her the UK's most prolific child serial murderer of the modern era.

Between June 2015 and June 2016, the 33-year-old was also convicted of attempting to kill six more newborns at the Countess of Chester Hospital in England.

Letby injected air into babies, forced milk into others, and poisoned two of the babies with insulin.

Despite numerous warnings raised by senior doctors at the hospital, the nurse remained to work at the neonatal unit.

The government of the United Kingdom has announced a public inquiry into the fatalities.
