"The Professor" Early Drug Company Lyrica Ad (Lost Commercial) (Lost Media)

Fibromyalgia is thought to the be the result of overactive nerves that cause chronic widespread pain. Try Lyrica, it's got the electrolytes your body craves, or something. This was from a time period where drug ads just started appearing on TV. People thought it might be bad for healthcare, but it did great for drug company profits. So it's a trade off.

This is also the time where everyone who needed a prescription was a professor. All the adds featured a professor up there talking. I guess all the ad agencies thought it made it look more authoritative. What I mostly remember about it is Vash (Captain Picard's girlfriend* from Star Trek: The Next Generation) was in a commercial. She was also a professor, but I wasn't fooled. She was a thief of antiquities, and we saw her run off with Q, so the most likely explanation is she went back in time and was trying to steal an important artifact. That's the MOST likely explanation.

Recorded September 2009.

*It was more of a tryst. I don't know if girlfriend is the right word. "It's complicated."

Oh yeah, this ad was about Lyrica, not Star Trek The Next Generation....Pfizer still makes it. I guess it's fine. Thanks professor Lady.
